Too Scary for Some

I love Halloween. It was a few days ago, and I saw a lot of scary costumes. What was really frightening was that some of the scariest were on 6 year olds. Halloween has become more about who can get the bloodiest costume than how I seem to remember it when I was a youngster. Even little kids seem to be wearing scary costumes that have guts falling out, blood dripping and distorted faces. Costumes of chainsaw psychos for kids who are only seven greatly surpass the Frankenstein and “guy with knife in head” costumes that I saw when I was that age. It scares the pants off of me to see innocent little kids wearing Freddy Kruger claws. Parents need to find the borderline between saying, “Sure honey that’s fine,” letting their kids dress up as whatever they want, and making theirĀ  to be innocent little fairy princesses. There should be a definite N-O to being Octomom–now that’s scary. That’s all I’m saying. And I’m hoping that next year I won’t have nightmares of toddlers running around with maces and chainsaws.

Spooky Secrets of MKA

Today we will be exploring why there is no room 225… Long ago, when your oldest brother was an 8th grader, there was a third room in the hallway leading to the library. They were rooms 224, 225, and 226. They were good…and they were tiny. In fact, no one could move in them. So one day, the old headmaster decided to rip out room 225. And from that day on, everyone had enough space. But, not everything was perfect. One day, while the walls were being ripped out, teacher came in for a meeting. However, he had misheard the location. The meeting was actually in room 125! He was a substitute, so he had no idea that the room was very unstable. He walked in and (wait for it…) fell through the floor to his bloody death a floor below. So, now his ghost now haunts the Crow’s Nest, as well as rooms 224 and 226. in fact, many members of the janitorial staff have quit after hearing his screams of pain, resulting from his death on the floor below.

Songs to Put You in the Spirit

With Halloween coming up, I’ve decided to write a list of scary songs, not movies–because this list is terrifying. “Kim,” Eminem. Without a doubt, one of the scariest songs ever written. While also taking the cake for most swear words in one sentence, this song sends chills down my spine EVERY TIME. “The Serpentine Offering,” Dimmu Borgir. Scary symphonic death metal. What else gets you in the mood for a night of mischief and mayhem? “The Monster Mash,” Bobby Pickett and the Cryptkickers. Old school horror. When you’re tired of running house to house in a cold sweat, pump this up and start dancing the monkey! “Don’t Fear The Reaper,” Blue Oyster Cult. Anyone that has seen Friday the 13th will get the terror that is synonymous with this incredibly cheesy 70′s anthem. “Thriller,” Michael Jackson. The scariest song of the 80s (aside from hair metal power ballads. Eeek!) has kept its resonance, thanks to the epic video. If you want anymore songs to send chills down the spine just ask me.
