The MKA Middle School can be a place that is big and hard to get used to when you first come to here, but if you know these tips and tricks, you will be able to navigate you way around the school as easy as pie!
Tip #1: Make sure that you know the fastest way to get to your class. For example, there’s a stairway that’s across the hall from Mr. Flemming’s room that is never crowded, and is an easy access to the sixth grade hallway.
Tip #2: Make sure you check Moodle three times. The first time in order to copy your homework down, into your planner. A second time so that you can complete your homework correctly, and one last time (after you do your homework) to make sure that you’ve done all of your work.
Tip #3: Figure out a calendar of some kind. For instance, use iCal, your planner, Entourage, or any other kind of calendar. Calendars like these are helpful so that you can keep track of quizzes and tests, as well as when projects are due.
Tip #4: With the new schedule, you now have more time during the day to complete your homework. Another good use of this time is studying. Make sure that you know all of the material that you need to study. If you need help, it’s a good idea to see if you can go see that teacher for help, especially before a big test.
Tip #5: One trick for when you’re writing a big paper or essay is reading. Not reading just anything, but reading your essay. Read it to yourself, have your computer read it to you, read it to a parent, or even read it to a friend. Read it to as many times as you need to, because the more you read it over, the more silly mistakes you will correct and the better grade you will get! Reading it to other people is also good, because sometimes other opinions can really help.
If you use these easy tips and tricks, you’re sure to have a great school year!
